A Bit About Coach Rodrigo
With a passion for player development, Rodrigo Petillo leads as the Futsal Technical Director at Heart and Sole Futsal Academy. In this role, he oversees all player and coaching programs, ensuring a cohesive curriculum and philosophy is implemented across the club. Known for his ability to adjust coaching techniques based on individual strengths and weaknesses, Coach Petillo brings a wealth of futsal experience to the table, having planned, coached, and delivered training to young athletes and coaches. Beyond his day-to-day responsibilities, he keeps a pulse on the evolving world of futsal, regularly presenting new rules, techniques, and philosophies to the club. Dedicated to growing the sport, Coach Rodrigo also arranges community-focused events like training camps and skill-improvement clinics. Under his leadership, Heart and Sole Futsal Academy is poised for continued excellence.
Work Experience
Coach Rodrigo played professional futsal in Argentina and Italy for 11 years. Coach Rodrigo has participated in four (4) Futsal Copa Americas and three (3) Futsal World Cups. The most notable highlights during his career were: 1st in the Futsal Copa American Cup in South America and 4th place in the FIFA Futsal World Cup championship in 2004, where Coach Rodrigo competed against one of the most famous futsal players, Falcão.
After retiring from professional futsal, Coach Rodrigo started coaching, and has coached for River Plate, Soldasur, and Secla, all first division professional clubs in Argentina’s AFA.
In October of 2022, Nexus Futbol Academy signed a 3-year contract with Heart and Sole Futsal Academy to employ Coach Rodrigo Petillo as the school’s full time soccer and futsal coach.
